Back from North Carolina
I am back in Texas, rested, relaxed, and recharged! I had a great time visiting with my family and hanging out by the beach and on my parents' farm. First stop was Topsail Island, home of much inspiration for my paintings. I took another 600 or so photos to work on for this coming year!I took a day trip up to Beaufort and went shelling on Shackleford Banks. I was privileged enough to spot several of the wild horses that inhabit the island, including #2, who was munching very close to the spot the boat picked us up.

After a week at the beach, I was off to Westfield at the edge of the North Carolina mountains . I enjoyed the quiet, being able to see the stars, and fresh-picked wild blackberries! I also met the newest member in my immense clan, my 2-month old niece who was incredibly sweet.
As usual with any extended vacation, I couldn't wait to be there when I left home and then I couldn't wait to be home by the time I left there! I did a lot of soul-searching on this trip which I'll share a bit of during my next post!
