Ok..sorry for the long time no post. I've been spreading myself a little thin across my business lately. I'll not bore you with the details..but if you run or have ever run your own business..you know what I'm talking about.
Fall has finally hit Texas! No..this doesn't mean beautiful trees full of red, gold, and orange. It does mean porches full of pumpkins, chrysanthemums, and scarecrows! Did I mention pumpkins? Church fields full of pumpkins! Dallas Arboretum full of pumpkins! I visited the Arboretum a couple of weeks ago checking out their 2nd Annual Artscape to see if I wanted to be a part of it next year. Artscape is a part of their fall celebration which includes a run, a multitude of kids activities, and an absolute ton of PUMPKINS. I took a bunch of pictures and headed back to the studio!
This a is bit of a departure from my normal wildlife and coastal but sometimes you have to just go with inspiration! I even have my students painting acrylic paintings of pumpkins right now!

This is a 5"x7" study of 2 mini-pumpkins. I completed 2 studies and then started a 24" x 36" still life composition of pumpkins inspired by an arrangement at the Arboretum. I'm almost done with it (it will definitely be at Huffhines next week.)
But now the Christmas bug is starting to get to me....
